Alfie Henry Harman Doughty is an English professional footballer who plays for Premier League club Luton Town as a midfielder or full-back.
Doughty joined the Charlton Athletic Academy when he was eight years old and proceeded through the youth levels to the first team, where he made his debut against Milton Keynes Dons in the EFL Cup on 14 August 2018.
Doughty joined Kingstonian on loan on October 19, 2018, and will be there until November 17, 2018. Doughty scored twice for Kingstonian on his league debut against Harlow Town. Doughty made 16 first-team appearances for Kingstonian, 13 of which were league matches, scoring four goals, three of which were league goals. Doughty joined Bromley on a month’s loan on September 7.
Doughty made his Charlton debut against Forest Green Rovers in the first round of the EFL Cup on August 13, 2019, before breaking into the first team on a regular basis later in the 2019-20 season. Doughty appeared in 30 games for the Addicks before they were relegated from the Championship on the final day of the season. During the season, his exploits earned him the title of Charlton’s young player of the year.
Doughty started the 2020-21 season well, but sustained a season-ending hamstring injury away against Northampton Town on October 24, 2020. Following interest from Stoke City, Doughty turned down a new contract offer from Charlton in January 2021.
