The United States of America (U.S.A. or USA), sometimes known as the United States (U.S. or US) or simply America, is a country with 50 states, a federal district, five significant unorganized territories, and nine Minor Outlying Islands. It is predominantly located in North America.
There are 326 Indian reservations there. It is the third-largest country in the globe in terms of total area and land. It has maritime boundaries with the Bahamas, Cuba, Russia, and other countries, as well as shared land borders with Canada to the north and Mexico to the south.
